Amazing Event for TS Butterflies!!

  Hello Friends!

I just have to share about the amazing "Fairbanks Strikeout for Turner Syndrome" event at the Tampa Bay Rays Tropicana Field Ballpark in St. Petersburg!!

On Sunday, July 28th it was the Disability Pride & Awareness Game for the Tampa Bay Rays and the Turner Syndrome Foundation was there to watch this awesome game!

Pete and Lydia made sure we were all warmly welcomed with hugs for all from Lydia and handshakes from Pete and we even got to meet their two beautiful children, Issaic,  a four year old son and Lottie a two year old daughter.  Such a wonderful and loving family!   They lost their third child to complications from Turner Syndrome at 19 weeks gestation and they decided to take their pain and turn it into something beautiful for all of the Turner Syndrome girls and women out there.  They are not only bringing awareness of TS to the world, but also fundraising for the Turner Syndrome Foundation so that it can continue to educate families, the medical field and the educational field of the many ways that TS can affect individuals with TS throughout their lifetimes!

The Fairbanks treated us to a Luxury Suite in the Stadium with food, drinks and a bird's eye view of the playing field!  We couldn't have asked for a better day!  It was an exciting game with Pete winning the game with the final strike out!

I, for one,  feel so blessed to have had a small part in all of this!  It was an absolutely wonderful event and game and I cannot thank the Fairbanks Family enough for their generosity!

Thanks for stopping by!

Turner Syndrome Awareness Card Auction

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Today I am sharing about the Turner Syndrome Awareness Card Auction!

For the last several years, I’ve been running the Turner Syndrome (TS) Awareness Card Auction as a fundraiser for TSF. As part of the Card Making Community, I know Card Designers from all over the world who donate their handmade cards for the Auction. These cards are made with love to help support TSF and our mission to improve the lives of TS females!

Cards are Special

Today we live in a "throw-away" society where it’s more convenient to send a text or email rather than sitting down and writing out a card; but is it the same thing?

When you receive a text wishing you “Happy Birthday,” do you get the same warm fuzzy feeling when opening a card with a handwritten note inside? Once you read the text, its moment has ended. But a handwritten card is special

Imagine going to your mailbox and finding an envelope with a loved one's handwriting on it. You immediately recognize the writing and a smile comes across your face. When you read what they wrote inside, it’s like getting a big warm hug from them! It means the person who sent it to you took the time to pick out a card, write something in it, and address the envelope.

Why Buy From the TSF Card Auction?

You might be wondering, why should I buy a card from the TS Awareness Card Auction rather than a Big Box store?

There is no comparison between a beautiful handmade card to a mass produced card. Every piece of the handmade card is an artist sharing their unique craft compared to a machine printing out cards by the hundreds.

Card Designers are taking time out of their day, using their costly supplies, and making cards filled with love for the benefit of TSF!! Whether it’s a stamped image that they lovingly colored, or cutting out and piecing together various elements harmoniously, time and effort go into each part of the card. Handmade cards are precious as "one-of-a-kinds," which makes them interesting and unique!

It’s about imagination, crafting skills, and love. Why put money into the pockets of corporate companies when buying a card from the auction keeps TSF alive and supports individuals with TS?

In our fast-paced computerized world, we have lost touch of this beautiful sentimental art. So let's revive the lost art of sending cards to our family and friends. Let them know you love and appreciate them!

Please consider buying a card or two from the auction to show your support for TSF and our generous Card Designers who donate their handmade crafts! With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, this year can be a little more special and unique just like your loved ones. Or prepare for your favorite holiday in the future! Each card is a work of art, an act of love, and another step forward in supporting women with Turner syndrome.

Turner Syndrome and Giving Tuesday

 Hello Friends!!

Happy Giving Tuesday!!  Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving here in the United States.  It is widely acknowledges as "global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and oragnizations to transform their communities and the world".

So on this Giving Tuesday I am asking you to give with your heart to the Turner Syndrome Foundation so that they can continue to do the excellent work of providing education of Turner Syndrome and its many medical affects to families and doctors alike.

Giving Tuesday is a day to support girls and women, like my Julie, who live with Turner syndrome.  Every 8 minutes a girl is born.  Your support can help us continue this work in 2024.

Julie and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Hugs,

Lori

TS Awarness "Kickoff the Holidays" Card Auction

Hello Friends!!

Today I am sharing a Halloween card I made for the Turner Syndrome Awareness "Kickoff the Holidays" Card Auction that I am hosting for the benefit of the Turner Syndrome Foundation, here in New Jersey!  It is a "Mission of Love" for me since my oldest daughter, Julie, was born with TS.  Over her 35 years we have encountered many doctors and educators who were not knowledgeable about TS and I feel that Julie missed out on important care because of this ~ so I am trying to bring as much awareness to TS as I can in hopes that the medical and education fields will do some much needed research on how TS affects females throughout their lifetimes.

I host the card auction as a fundraiser for TSF because I think they are a wonderful organization that does great things for TS individuals and their families while running solely on donations!  So this fundraiser is my way of giving back and helping to keep the doors of TSF open for everyone!

Here is one of my cards that I am putting in the Card Auction:

I absolutely LOVE making Halloween cards and I had a blast making this one!

The TS Awareness "Kickoff the Holidays" Card Auction will be held on the Givebutter Auction site, below is the link to the site:

https://givebutter.com/c/xoxdn0/auction

You will have to register with the site to be able to view the cards in the auction.  They will ask you for your credit card information ~ but they will not charge you unless you are the highest bidder on one of the fabulous cards in the auction!  They are all made and donated by card makers from all over the world and they are all so very talented!  Please show them and TSF some love and bid with your heart!

I hope you will stop by and see the amazing cards and if you find one that you love ~ Please bid on it!  Why buy from a big box card store when you can donate and get a one of kind card made with love!!

Thanks for stopping by!

With the economy tanking the Turner Syndrome Foundation is in need of donations to keep their doors open and to continue with their mission so as a "Spur of the Moment" decision I decided to Host a Kickoff the Holidays  ~ TS Awareness Holiday Card Auction for the benefit of the Turner Syndrome Foundation.

We will be auctioning cards for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas and News Years!  All the money will go directly to the TSF.  For this card auction I am testing out an auction site to see if the process can be streamlined.  I am holding it over the Labor Day Weekend!  It will start on Friday, September 1st at 9:00 am EST on the new auction site and end on Tuesday, September 5th at 9:00 am EST.

If anyone is interested in donating any homemade Holiday cards please contact me at:  mulchlady6@gmail.com

 Hello Friends!!

Happy Turner Syndrome Awareness Month!!  Turner Syndrome is very near and dear to me and I do my best to spread awareness of TS for my TS Butterfly Julie and all the other TS Butterflies!  They deserve to get the best medical care and the best education and without the knowledge of TS these fields can't help them as much as they deserve! So I will continue on in my mission to bring awareness of TS to the world!

And that brings me to another thing that is near and dear to me and that is the Turner Syndrome Awareness Card Auction that I host for the benefit of the Turner Syndrome Foundation!

The card auction is a collaboration between me and Card Designers all over that world that make cards filled with LOVE and HOPE and donate them for the auction with all the donations going directly to the Turner Syndrome Foundation!  The Card Designers are the Best of the Best people on Earth!  I truly love them with all my heart because they are helping with my mission!  I hope you will take a minute or 20 to stop by the card auction and see all the love in these cards and open your heart and your wallets and make a bid on one of the cards!  You can go to the card auction with this link:  https://www.instagram.com/mulchlady6/

Here are a couple of cards I made specifically for the card auction and TS Butterflies:

Turner Syndrome is all about the Quirk X chromosome ~ either the females are born missing their whole or partial second X chromosome and that is at the root of the syndrome!  So our TS theme for 2023 is The X Factor!

Thanks so much for stopping by and don't forget to stop by the TS Awareness Card Auction!!

Lots of love,

Lori

The X Factor ~ Turner Syndrome Awareness Card Auction for February 2023

Hello Turner Syndrome Families and Friends!!

I hope this email finds you happy and healthy!  I am writing to you today about my mission to continue to bring Awareness of Turner Syndrome to the world and to help the Turner Syndrome Foundation to continue to do more programs to educate the public, the medical field and educators to the ways the partial or complete missing X chromosome impacts the girls and women with TS!    The Turner Syndrome Foundation is a non-profit and the Card Auction is a huge source of funds
I will be hosting the Turner Syndrome Awareness Card Auction again in February 2023.  I am asking all of my faithful and new Card Designers to help me make the TS Awareness Card Auction a huge success by making and donating a card for the auction.  The card can be for any occasion and must include an envelope.  You can either mail the card out to the highest bidder after I receive proof of their donation or you can mail the card to me ahead of time and I will mail it out to the winner after their donation is confirmed.
The TS Card Auction will take place on my Instagram account at:  @mulchlady6 and I will need a photo of your card by January 10th so I can start posting photos of the cards onto the instagram page.
I would like to update you on something that Julie and I enjoyed this summer.  TSF had a Picnic at Liberty Lake in NJ for Turner Syndrome females and  their families and Julie and I went to it and had a wonderful time!  We got to meet many TS Butterflies and I have to tell you that Turner Syndrome affects each individual female differently!  But one quality is dominant in that these girls and women are happy and social individuals!  It was a wonderful event and I hope to see more events like this in the future!!
So please give some thought to donating a card or two for this Card Auction!  I really appreciate your continued support and I could never do this auction without the caring and generosity of all the wonderful card designers in the card making community!

Thanks so very much for all you do to help make the world a better place!

Here is a photo of us leaving to go to the TS Liberty Lake Picnic!

If you or someone you know would like to make and donate a card for this Turner Syndrome
Awareness Card Auction please get in touch with me at:  mulchlady6@gmail.com

Big Hugs,

Help Me Reach My Goal!

 Help me reach my goal!!

I set out to raise $10,000 in support of Turner Syndrome awareness and I asked a few friends to join me by making a card that they love to be donated to the auction.  Actually, it was much more that just a few friends, it was a network of designers!  Card Designers from around the world rallied behind me to support my ambitious efforts, but I still need your help to reach my lofty fundraising goal.

The Card Heroes Auction was held over the 4th of July weekend and because it was such a success, I opened it up again to run through July 31st.  New items have been added to the auction including cards and scrapbooking and card making supplies, some are Creative Memories products that I am donating.  Every dollar goes to this great cause!  We want everyone to learn more about Turner Syndrome and you can help by sharing the Instagram link:  @mulchlady6

I have been busy settling the July 4th auction and mailing out cards to the lucky winners.  I am very grateful to everyone who supported the event.  Thank you everyone for your outpouring of generosity, love and learning about Turner Syndrome and helping to spread awareness by sharing information through your networks.  Many of the Card Designers are especially awesome to have posted about the event on their social media pages asking others to learn something about Turner Syndrome and also ask their family, fans and friends to support the cause by purchasing a card!

The event has been extended to July 31st and the winners will be announced on August 1st.  Take a look, make a bid and support the cause!

Thank you!

Lori
